The Big Apple welcomes T-Mobile’s HSPA+

By: t-marco May 11th, 2010

Great news for our readers from New York and New Jersey. Today T-Mobile announced the expansion of its new 3.5 G network HSPA+. Now it is live in New York City and parts of New Jersey.

This the second big market after Philadelphia running the fastest 3.5 G in the market (21Mbps) . T-Mobile said that it’s HSPA+ network will cover 185 million Americans across 100 markets by the end of the year. HSPA+ is capable of pushing data downstream at 21Mbps, which is far and above what some of the current 3G networks are capable of.

HSPA+ is the last 3G tech that will be deployed on GSM networks before Long Term Evolution takes over.
