In a move that may surprise many of you, we are hearing time and again from TMS employees (or ex-employees) that T-Mobile USA is in the process of purchasing The Mobile Solution. The Mobile Solution is a 3rd party T-Mobile retailer, with kiosks across the United States. You may know them as the ones who yell from their kiosk to get your attention. Notorious for sales techniques that some may deem shady, dishonest, or pushy, The Mobile Solution has sold both T-Mobile services, and AT&T services in recent history. According to their website:

“The Mobile Solution signed an exclusive dealership agreement with T-Mobile in 2005. It continues to pursue aggressively its goal of becoming the predominant distributor of wireless phones in the US. To meet this goal, the company continuously improves customer service in all areas of operations. Additionally, new processes were put in place for more efficient operations and reduce costs.”

Across the net, we have spotted TMS employees speaking about the acquisition of their company by T-Mobile USA. We are told that employees are being told to apply for T-Mobile employment online, and that they need to mark down that they used to work at TMS. While the details around employees and ex-employees are bit fuzzy, we can say that all the TMS employees which we have spoken to are upset about the acquisition. Keep in mind that while TMS has gained a bad reputation, we know many many TMS employees who are honest, good people that don’t utilize the shady sales tactics we often see from TMS.

Employees of The Mobile Solution, what have you heard? Is T-Mobile giving you the opportunity to transfer over your employment? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

If you live in one of the several unlucky markets where “The Mobile Solution” terrorizes the malls then you are in for a major change! The company recently sold off 10 major markets. For those who are not familiar with The Mobile Solution, they are an authorized reseller of T-Mobile products…. They are those guys that keep hawking you at the mall trying to sell you products that they know little about! On Friday, all of the affected markets started to slowly but surely close down. The stores are expected to start re-opening October 18th under the name “The Mobile Life” and will sell none other than AT&T products!!! So what does this translate to? Well, I expect to see a sudden upward spike in T-Mobile’s customer service scores which will hopefully help them reclaim the throne of “Best Customer Service”. What do you guys think?
