Because of the faltering economy, we’ve all had to take cuts in our living style. Some have canceled their cable, eating in more, but then there are those who have to sacrifice their cell phone services. In the third quarter alone, T-Mobile added 670,000 customers and more than half of them were prepaid subscribers.

T-Mobile’s plans are some of the cheapest throughout the country, and thus a very good looking deal to those who are on tightened budgets. In addition, regional carriers MetroPCS and Leap Wireless gained 249,000 net customers and 156,000 net customers respectively. If the economy continues in its slump, then more people will most likely switch to prepaid to reduce their monthly costs.
