Rumor has it that Oprah may be launching a promotion for the myTouch 3G. One of our favorite Android blogs,Phandroid, just received a tip that the Oprah’s 24th season may start off with a large promotion on T-Mobile, and HTC’s behalf. The promotion would include all new customers getting $100 off the purchase of a myTouch, cutting the price from $199.99 to only $99.99. As a mobile phone carrier you never want to let current and loyal customers feel unloved, so this promotion will also apply to customers that want to upgrade, or add a line.
T-Mobile is making the rounds with their new myTouch 3G Android device, creating a brand new commercial with not 1 or 2, but 3 celebs included. The commercial, aimed to show how much you can personalize the myTouch 3G, shows Phil Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg and Jessie James all handling the myTouch 3G. See for yourself:

Aug. 7th: A convincing screenshot of HTC’s website surfaces, showing specifications for the “HTC Hero (T-Mobile USA).” A short while after this screenshot surfaces, T-Mobile denies that we will be seeing the HTC Hero on T-Mobile shelves.
Aug. 7th: CPS breaks the news: A interesting Nokia devices passes the FCC, and while we don’t have a lot of details, we can tell that it is extra wide, with a QWERTY keyboard, T-Mobile 3G, and more. We suspect this is the N900 or Nokia Rover, and Internet tablet that, according to MobileCrunch, is headed to T-Mobile shelves in September. Read the article
Just minutes ago, 100 sky divers jumped from planes over San Francisco in a massive publicity stunt for T-Mobile’s new myTouch 3G phone. The stunt was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, the San Francisco Port Authority and the Recreation and Park Department, which oversaw the event.
