Google officials on Monday announced the $12.5 billion deal, which would transform the search engine into a cell manufacturer after years spent wading into the wireless business and critically intensify Washington scrutiny of a company already feeling antitrust heat.
Now Google Inc. now has an internal smartphone manufacturing division to further the march of its Android software platform as it vies with Apple Inc. for global smartphone supremacy.
David Drummond, chief legal officer at Google, said the company is “confident” the deal will be approved. The company has yet to spell out what kind of regulatory review it is expecting.
“We very strongly believe that this is a pro-competitive transaction,” Drummond said.

The Motorola Cliq 2 is the latest android phone from Motorola and T-Mobile. The Motorola Cliz 2 packs all the necessary for potential smart phone.
” The Motorola CLIQ 2 is a fantastic update to the original CLIQ, offering all of the expected features of old with a shiny new coat of varnish. The CLIQ 2 is faster, offers a far better display, and simply outclasses the original in nearly every way.
What it lacks, though, is HD video recording and HSPA+ data speeds. But considering its $100 price point, it’s still a good value for T-Mobile subscribers looking for an Android QWERTY smartphone. The problem is that the HTC-built T-Mobile G2 is also available for that price and offers a sexier design and a sleeker looking user interface.”

Yes guys, we did it again. After showing you the first exclusive pictures of the new Dell Streak 7, now we are giving you one present for this 2011. We introduce you the new and better Motorola Cliq 2 aka Begonia. This is the next high end Android phone from Motorola after releasing the Defy.
The new Mototola Cliq 2 features a full qwerty slide keyboard, 5MP camera with LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, aGPS, WiFi b/g/n, possibly wifi calling too and a new version of MotoBlur with new widgets.
The Motorola Cliq 2 has a weird but unique keyboard ( like a honeycomb). We still don’t know about if it will come with Android 2.2 (froyo) , Honeycomb or Gingerbread (2.3). As you remember, T-Mobile will focus on HSPA+ in 2011, so we are expected this could be the first HSPA+ for Motorola.
Motorola Cliq 2 will be announced at CES and probably will be available on January 19th.
Stay tuned for more information.
