Today, using the combination *#2236# i found the phone has LTE band, and not only one .. all of them!

This means the SGS II has the skyrocket modem ? .. i will be available to use LTE with my SGS II?

please if you guys can test it let us know!

T-Mobile USA is the only potential bidder and the sale of the spectrum could happen by the end of the first quarter.
Building out an LTE network may cost between $1 billion and $2 billion, the company said. Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray said that T-Mobile will need a spectrum partner by 2014 or 2015.

Sprint Nextel, the first U.S. carrier to roll out a 4G network, is considering changing its 4G strategy in a way that could encourage a merger with T-Mobile, according to a July 12 report from the Financial Times.

According to Technology Business Research Analyst Ken Hyers, the rollout of an LTE network would be in keeping with statements Clearwire has made — and would prevent Sprint from being isolated in its technology choice as Verizon and AT&T’s 4G networks go live.

“Clearly, the U.S. market cannot support four competitive national operators. T-Mobile currently has the fastest 3G wireless network in the market, but its coverage is smaller than any other major operator, and like Sprint it continues to lose postpaid customers to AT&T and Verizon Wireless,” Hyers told eWEEK. “A tie-up between the two smaller nationwide operators would allow them to share spectrum and network-buildout costs, while continuing to operate independently.”

Hyers continued, “I believe that a network sharing partnership between Sprint and T-Mobile USA would be an effective way for them to rapidly build a high-speed wireless broadband network while claiming bragging rights to having the biggest and fastest network.”

May happen or may not.. we have to wait until we get some official news.

For those who have been dying for in-flight broadband, your wait will soon be over (on select flights, of course). Granted, you’ll only get 2Mbps of download and an insane amount of latency, but you’ll have broadband nonetheless. For those wanting a little more oomph in their in-flight broadband experience, you’ll have to wait until 2011.

Aircell announced that they are planning for the next generation of in-flight services while they have yet to release their first-gen product. By 2011, they are planning to use the 4G cell data technology called LTE. LTE is a standard that will be used by Verizon and AT&T in the future to provide super-fast connections, ranging up to 300Mbps.

This means that an average of 12 people will be able to watch HDTV streams (if HDTV streams stay at 25Mb/sec). Otherwise, you’ll be on a super speedy connection, granted that we will all have 802.11n since the current mega-standard, 802.11g, tops out at 54Mbps. One thing we can only pray for (and it seems to be happening): no VoIP. Because, honestly, who wants to hear about the guy next to you talk about his business trip and how he saved the company millions of dollars? Not me.
