Second Android phone coming really soon to T-Mobile

T-Mobile USA is getting ready to roll out its second Google phone, according to T-Mobile’s CTO Cole Brodman, who confirmed the timing in an interview with mocoNews. He said the follow-up device to the T-Mobile G1 will be out in early summer..( means now?) and details of the release would come later this month.

Brodman: “We are really excited about that. We have no more specific details at this time, but wanted to say we remain very committed to the Android platform and are excited about taking this next step.”

Brodman said the device will run the so-called “cupcake” version of the operating system, which is currently rolling out to T-Mobile G1 subscribers. He wouldn’t say much else about the device, but it sounds like it has a high likelihood of coming from a new handset partner, like Motorola Morrison, Samsung Big Foot or Gallaxi, rather than from HTC, which manufactured the original T-Mobile G1.

Brodman: “We’ll have multiple new Android devices?from multiple partners?this year.”

T-Mobile’s brand on Android: The original G1 device was predominately a Google product, and didn’t include much of T-Mobile’s brand. Brodman said that will change. “My perspective is that each device will be focused on a different consumer segment?There’s a couple of paths you can take: You can partner close with Google, and it has Google brand sprinkled throughout, and then there’s the carrier and handset initiative?and non-Google based innovation. We are going to take both paths to market, and you’ll see different elements sprinkled in.”

?T-Mobile on netbooks: Brodman said netbooks are an emerging space for the company and are looking at working with partners over the next several months. Separately, they are seeing several partners embed Android into hybrid devices and into netbooks. Brodman said that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll choose Android, but a mobile-centric platform, like Andorid, makes sense for mobile devices.

?The G1 as a success: T-Mobile’s parent Deutsche Telekom said T-Mobile sold more than 1 million G1s during its first six months on the market. Is that a success? Brodman: “I think for a first generation product?with first-generation hardware and software?and for a period of time it was in the market, it was good. We didn’t launch the G1 for the sake of making the G1 the most successful mobile phone ever built?It was about plays well beyond the G1. From that standpoint,…it was pretty good as a starting point.”

?Will T-Mobile pick up Nokia’s N97?: Brodman said they are not very interested in Nokia’s flagship N97 device, which hits the market this month. Brodman: “Some of the Nokia/Symbian devices have a lot of functionality, but they are quite expensive and Symbian does not have a lot of traction in the U.S. While Nokia is a strong partner, we haven’t had a lot of demand for N-series products to date.

T-Mobile internal computer screenshots reveal exciting new devices

TmoNews recently got their hands on some great screenshots of what seems like T-Mobile’s internal inventory system. While we see all our expected devices, such as the G1 and Dash, we also see some exciting new devices that will be heading to T-Mobile’s shelves shortly. The above screenshot reveals the T-Mobile Dash 3G kit. A Dash-like device with 3G could be…well, unstoppable! We are excited to see the great efficiency of the Dash, with sexy speeds of a 3G device.

So what do we have here? Lets start with the beauty that we often call the Touch Pro 2. Like we saw with the last T-Mobile system screenshots, an inclusion in the inventory list does not particularly verify that the device will be heading to T-Mobile’s shelves, although we feel confident that all phones on this list will be heading T-Mobile’s way. The Touch Pro 2 will be a nice addition to T-Mobile’s ever-expanding touchscreen lineup. Above the Touch Pro 2, we see the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. Although that was not the first time we had seen that name, we were not expecting the T-Mobile Magic G2 to be released under that name. Either way, we are excited for all 3 phones revealed by these great screenshots, and we welcome more that we hopefully have heading our way!

Android 1.5’s will supoort widget

Google recently posted details on just how Android OS 1.5 will work with third-party widgets. Widgets in Android OS will give users a “quick glimpse into full-featured apps, such as showing upcoming calendar events, or viewing details about a song playing in the background.” Users can also interact with an application through the widget – pause music, change tracks, show tomorrow’s calendar schedule, etc. The widget takes up a reserved space on the Android OS homescreen, allowing it to display its info unobstructed.

As any G1 owner can attest, this action can’t possibly come soon enough.

We told you about the cupcake here, here and here but seams like T-Mobile and Google will not release the cupcake sooner. However, now, thanks to daproy on XDA developers forums, the Android 1.5 is already here.

A little of work is required to get the software up and running on a G1, but it’s not something that would be above the abilities of the average user thanks in part to great tutorials and the help of the XDA community

It includes fixed apn settings for t-mobile, at&t and Chinese apn settings pre-built in, working camera, and working headset audio. Not more waits from Google, HTC or T-Mobile. Get yours NOW!!

HTC Magic Passes FCC with T-Mobile USA Branding

Well well well, what do we have here? Today the HTC Magic, showing some sexy pink and gray T-Mobile USA branding and sporting T-Mobile USA 3G bands, passed through the beloved FCC filters. The HTC Magic, codenamed “Sapphire,” is the first T-Mobile device to pass through the FCC with both T-Mobile 3G, AND UMA. Lucky day indeed for T-Mobile users, what more could you ask for?

How about a CellPhoneSignal, 100% confidant confirmation that the HTC Magic will arrive on T-Mobile’s network as the big brother to the current T-Mobile G1. T-Mobile Android G2 “Saphire 2.0″ in the wild

Engadget (chinese) has the scoop on alleged spy shots of the next generation Android cell phone from T-Mobile, aptly known as the G2. This will also be manufactured by HTC, and from the looks of it, this won’t be the HTC Touch HD that some people thought would be released as the G2 instead. It misses out on a keyboard and comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back. According also with Gizmodo, the G2 will allegedly be released sometime in the middle of this May, featuring a highly similar interface with that of the G1. Palm Pre, T-Mobile G2, fight!

New HTC 2009 line-up leaked for T-Mobile

Wow, this is huge, A complete 2009 line-up leaked from HTC. Here are many new models coming to AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon. For now, i am going to show you the coming devices for T-Mobile.

There is going to be a HTC Tungstine,probably this is going to be one of the 2 Androids T-Mobile G phones. We will see after the pictures come more clear and bigger.

The HTC Tungstine will be a full touch screen with 4 keys. It is clear that the Tungstine will come with a slider full keyboard and probably 3G. An upgrade of the Wing? No worlds about this is going to be an Android or Windows Mobile device.

Yesterday we told you about the new update coming to T-Mobile G1. This update will include new features like mms, and video capable. Unfortunately, some features will not be including for the G1. Instead, they will be include in feature Android devices..oops.. That’s right! A new Android is coming and is called T-Mobile G2, doh. Many rumors where on the net about how will be the new G2 for T-mobile and Google. but now this is clear…Yes ladies and gentlemen, a new T-Mobile Android device is coming to town and just simply will be called G2. There is something really interesting here also. There were rumors but finally we think is going to be true. The T-Mobile G2 will carry, besides the 5mp camera, a VGA camera.. What?.. we do we need a VGA camera when we have a 5mp camera. Well, this is coming guys. The VGA camera is for video calling. The rumors finally will become true. T-Mobile will launch video call service at the end of January 2009 and the T-Mobile G2 will be one of the first devices that will be capable for video call. Now, think about twice when you make a video call.

Our tipster told us also we are getting the picture of the device soon or very soon. So, I suggest, keep in touch and tell us what do you think about this 2 amazing news : T-Mobile G2 and Video calling, both this January.
