The rumors are becoming real news. T-Mobile is moving to a third parties partners like  Clearwire to get more spectrum for the new 4G services. Rumors of a joint venture with Clearwire originally surface last September when Bloomberg reported that T-Mobile was in talks with Clearwire in a negotiation that involved a cash investment from T-Mobile USA parent Deutsche Telecom in exchange for access to Clearwire’s growing 4G  network and spectrum resources

Because T-Mobile USA has been losing customers, to larger as well as smaller rivals, there was a rash of speculation last year about its future, with possibilities ranging from a merger with Sprint, Leap Wireless International Inc or MetroPCS Communications Inc, to a network partnership with Clearwire Corp.

Routers asked whether T-Mobile USA would consider teaming up with U.S. competitor Sprint Nextel, Dotson said: “What you never want to do is take one company that is going through challenges and take another company going through challenges”.

We have to wait until the official news to see that is going to be T-Mobile’s new plan.

T-Mobile announced that the webConnect Rocket USB Laptop Stick, the first HSPA+ device for the U.S., will be available beginning on Sunday, March 14. HSPA+ is interesting because it could enable 4G LTE-like speeds using existing 3G infrastructure.

The device is branded the WebConnect Rocket USB Laptop Stick, and will initially be sold in Philadelphia, where TMo has recently upgraded to the 7.2Mbps iteration of HSPA. While AT&T is avoiding the HSPA+ step, planning to move straight to LTE from 2011 onwards, T-Mobile does not have new spectrum for 4G and is set to pursue a longer HSPA+ path, possibly topped up with a WiMAX or LTE partnership with a spectrum holder like Clearwire.

The webConnect Rocket USB Laptop Stick retails for $99.99 with a two-year contract and an Even More webConnect data plan. $60 per month gets you 5GB, while $30 gets you just 200MB; both charge 20 cents per megabyte over that. Another new option, Even More Plus webConnect, drops the annual contract and lowers the monthly prices by $10 in each case, but raises the up-front price of the modem.

T-Mobile finally has finished upgrading its 3G network to HSPA 7.2 Mbps, now is planing to launch 4G services in some markets. The “very fast mobile web” is probably its new HSPA+ service that T-Mobile has been talking and testing in Philadelphia. T-Mobile also said that it plans to be the first U.S. carrier to deploy HSPA+ across its network by mid 2010.

Once fully enabled, HSPA+ will offer up to 21Mbps downloads.

The pilot markets for the HSPA+ webConnect Rocket include:

• Dallas, TX
• Miami, FL
• Los Angeles, CA
• Chicago, IL
• and maybe Philadelphia, PA (current test market for HSPA+)

T-Mobile just recently announced its new WebConnect Rocket USB Modem capable to reach speeds up to 21Mbps while Sprint already offers WiMax service for quite a while. PCWorld has compared both services in mayor cities like Las Vegas and Philadelphia.

About the WebConnect Rocket : T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ modem is even faster than the WiMAX devices we tested. But T-Mobile needs to provide a clear picture of their service plans and network buildout before we jump on board.

About Sprint Modem : If you’re connecting with Sprint, there’s no reason to get a 3G-only modem any more. Step up to a 3G/WiMAX combo with the U301—just don’t expect too much of WiMAX.

T-Mobile is planing to launch a new service HSPA+ up to 21Mbps next month. To do that, T-Mobile will need a few phones or usb modems capable to get that speed. One will be the new HTC HD2 coming next month too.  The HTC HD2 will be pre-loaded with the Transformers movie 1 and 2, a Blockbuster applications, capable to download movies. Barnes & Noble do download books, magazines and newspapers and MobiTV applications to watch live TV.

T-Mobile also is planing to launch another USB modem. Few days ago we told you about the new WebConnect Glide, now, its time for the Rocket, capable to get speeds up to 21Mbps. It’ll be hitting in March, though exact dates and prices for either have yet to be revealed.

Everything started back in September when T-Mobile was in talks with Metro PCS and Clearwire for 4G services.  Now, at CES in Las Vegas, Clearwire CEO William Morrow said that Bellevue-based T-Mobile could make sense as a wholesale partner. Also back in November, a German newspaper identified Clearwire as a potential partner of T-Mobile. But, in this case, Morrow came straight out and said that T-Mobile — along with Leap Wireless and MetroPCS — are potential partners in its wholesale business.

Clearwire is trying to continuing to resell WiMax service in certain markets under their own brands, like is already doing it with Sprint and Comscast.

We are just waiting for the big announcement.

T-Mobile representative Amanda Ginther has confirmed that it will rollout HSPA 7.2 data access across its entire network currently consisting of 240 cities covering 170 million points of presence and expanding to 200 million by the end of the year.

T-Mobile is preparing for an upgrade to 21Mbps HSPA+ access (Trial in Philadelphia) beginning in the middle of next year. Handsets in T-Mobile’s 3G lineup that are compatible with the current HSPA 7.2 upgrade include the T-Mobile G1, myTouch 3G,Touch Pro2, Dash 3G, Motorola CLIQ and the forthcoming Samsung Behold II.

According with Android and Me’s report T-Mobile has already rolled out its new faster internet speed up to 7.2 mbps.
