I have been a Sprint customer for 8 years and I have been looking out for new plan offerings for a while. I would be shocked if TMobile really priced this at $50/month. It makes sense that it would be near that price point since one of their main concerns is to compete with Sprint's subsidiary Boost Mobile division which offers unlimited voice, data, and text for $50/month prepaid with no hidden fees or taxes. However, Boost Mobile does not have high speed data such as 3G or EVDO, has limited coverage, limited phone selection, and runs on proprietary iDEN network technology. If TMobile does match Boost Mobile's monthly price and even decides to cover the hidden fees and taxes there would be little incentive for me to stay with Sprint and little incentive for Boost Mobile customers to not move to or back to TMobile. Plus, if TMobile allows their cool phones such as the MyTouch 3G on this plan then I would really have to consider this option because a similar phone on Sprint such as the new HTC Hero plan pricing starts at $69.99/month plus hidden fees and taxes and it does not include unlimited voice minutes to/from land line phones. The savings there would be significant enough for me and a lot of others customers to move over to TMobile, if this happens then Sprint will have to respond with more competitive plan pricing options for their customers. This wireless pricing war just gets better every year. Now we just have to wait and see what actually happens.
