T-Mobile WebConnect USB coming March 25th

We’ve heard about T-Mobile’s upcoming 3G WebConnect USB drive for quite some time. Today, we are looking at a confirmed release date of March 25th, 2009, also known as 20 days from now. The webConnect data plan will be $59.99 a month for 5GB of usage. After you hit 5GB of usage, which most of you will not, it will cost you $.20/MB, with voice services completely barred. The guys over at TmoNews did a little math, and according to them this is what you can do with 5GB of data:
- At 5GB of usage, you can do over 1,700,000 emails at 1 page no attachments OR look at close to 35,000 webpages OR do 1700 20 page powerpoint presentations OR download close to 1300 3 minute songs. Each one of those independently would take you to the magic 5GB cap number and anything above and beyond would it that $0.20 per 1MB overage charge.
Our hopes are that T-Mobile is testing their 3G network with the webConnect and in the future we’ll see T-Mobile’s usual price cuts and great deals. Stay tuned for more!
