T-Mobile Sidekicks to get slight Update

By: Shawn February 22nd, 2009

We’re hearing news this morning on an interesting move T-Mobile is making with their Sidekick devices. We know it isn’t Sidekick 2009 news, but it will have to hold you over for now. Trust us, we have ninjas working on it as you read this. Starting on March 10th, T-Mobile will offer all the conveniences of MyFaves to Sidekick customers, without the additional cost of MyFaves. Of course you wont receive unlimited calls to your Faves without paying the price, but for those that have always wanted Faves but can’t spare the extra cash each month, then today may just be your day. So what the heck is this?!  Well according to sources, T-Mobile states:

  • The Faves home screen provides customers the advantages of a simple and convenient one touch connection for calling, texting, or sending photos to the people they (you) care about most.
  • Customers with the Faves home screen without myFaves rate plans should be told it does not provide them with unlimited calling to 5 people like myFaves rate plans offer.

I think this means that they will do like the UMA service, where you can use the service, but won’t get the benefit of talking unlimited with paying for the service. It will just be up to you to watch your calling habits, and be responsible not to go crazy, if you know you don’t pay for the unlimited My-Faves service.
