We are getting word in that the Samsung T659, originally thought to be hitting T-Mobile’s shelves on September 2nd, may have been delayed a week. Our Upcoming Phones page has been updated to reflect the delay.
We can now expect the Samsung T659 to be released on T-Mobile’s network on September 9th. Of course with delays there are always mixed messages, so it looks as if we will have to wait until September 2nd (the original release date) to see if the reports of a delay have any substance. This up and coming device will feature an updated MP3 Media Player, with a MicroSD expansion option to store up to 16GB of music, video, and pictures. The T659, originally codenamed the “Samsung Scarlet,” will have T-Mobile’s regular GSM and GPRS/EDGE bands (850/900 1800/1900) in addition to access to T-Mobile’s 3G network (1700/2100), reportedly the 2nd fasted in the United States.
