Opera Mini 4.2 Beta and Visual Voice Mail for G1 are UP!!
It seems like the gold rush of applications for the T-Mobile G1has slowed down considerably over the last couple of weeks with just a few apps trickling out here and there. Two applications showed up today on the G1. Those were Opera Mini 4.2 beta and Fusion Voicemail Plus.
Opera Mini 4.2 beta gives you an alternate web browser for very fast internet access (due to the Opera server doing much of the work). One reason I love Opera Mini on all my mobile devices is the ability to login to synchronize Opera and have all my bookmarks appear on every device in a consistent manner. Granted, the included browser on the G1 is very good, but it is nice to have alternatives available too.
Fusion Voicemail Plus brings visual voicemail to the G1! You do need to first sign up for a free account online (you can do it from your G1 browser) before using the application on your G1. Fusion Voicemail is a free service that lists your voicemail messages on your G1 screen and lets you play them when you want. You can also forward other voicemail systems (home, work, other mobile phones) to your G1 number and get those voicemails into a visual voicemail system too.
