Nokia 1661, a Low-end phone coming to T-Mobile

By: T-Marco April 1st, 2009

As we expected, today Nokia announced the new Nokia 1661 coming to T-Mobile USA. Seams, like Nokia is not going to bring decent phones to the USA, specially for T-Mobile. While AT&T is getting the Noka E71x, we are getting …. THE NOKIA 1661… Depressing.

Specs wise, there’s a dual-band GSM radio on board, 1.8-inch 128×160 pixels screen, FM radio, speakerphone, flashlight, and a battery that can sustain up to 8 hours of talk and up to 624 hours of standby time. Pre-installed on the device are two games – Sudoku and Mobile Soccer.

“The Nokia 1661 with T-Mobile USA is an economically priced utility device that makes it easy to stay connected when consumers are away from home – with a built in speakerphone, FM radio and flashlight. The speakerphone allows consumers the ability to multitask and ensure they get the most out of their day. With the built-in flashlight, consumers won’t be left in the dark again as the Nokia 1661 easily lights the way. This prepaid device also comes preloaded with games like Sudoku or Mobile Soccer, ready to play out of the box.”
