T-Mobile representative Amanda Ginther has confirmed that it will rollout HSPA 7.2 data access across its entire network currently consisting of 240 cities covering 170 million points of presence and expanding to 200 million by the end of the year.
T-Mobile is preparing for an upgrade to 21Mbps HSPA+ access (Trial in Philadelphia) beginning in the middle of next year. Handsets in T-Mobile’s 3G lineup that are compatible with the current HSPA 7.2 upgrade include the T-Mobile G1, myTouch 3G,Touch Pro2, Dash 3G, Motorola CLIQ and the forthcoming Samsung Behold II.

According with Android and Me’s report T-Mobile has already rolled out its new faster internet speed up to 7.2 mbps. Some people have reported in Chicago a huge speed increased on their G1 and my touch 3G phones, up to 5.4 Mbps. If you guys live in Chicago o NY, give us some information about this..

Just few days ago ,Google announced the new Android 2.0 with new features like SDK support and a comprehensive list of changes in the latest version. We are gonna see the new Android 2.0 running on the new Droid phone from Verizon and probably an update to the HTC Hero, but, the G1?.. Seams it works. Expect the new Android 2.0 ROM available on the XDA forums in the next days.

I have some good news, that indicate that soon Sense UI may be officially made available for HTC Magic devices. At least where their carrier contracts and Google licensing requirements do not prevent it. (hope T-Mobile does not). HTC and Google heve released a new ROM update for the Magic, and it’s packing the Sense UI! Finally, Magic owners don’t have to put up with a stock Android homescreen anymore.

UPDATE : T-Mobile has gotten service restored, but some data has been forever lost. All customers will get a free month of service, and some will be offered “additional” compensation to “reinforce how valuable [they] are as a T-Mobile customer.”

Virtually all data services have been restored. Also, T-Mobile voice and text services were not impacted.
