HTC Vision, a Sidekick replacement phone?

By: t-marco July 5th, 2010

There are some rumors about the Project Emerald hitting to T-Mobile soon. T-Mobile is working on replace all the sidekicks with a new fresh Android phone, possibly the HTC Vision. The new HTC Vision will feature 480×800 screen, possible Super Amoled. The HTC Vision sounds like an HTC Desire with a QWERTY keyboard, something that a lot of people would go for.

Stay tuned for more information

If labelled a "Sidekick", this would be a disaster. Sidekicks are known for FIVE-ROW keyboards as well as larger buttons on the front 4 corners, 2 buttons on top edge and volume/power buttons on the bottom edge (though the power button was in a poor location and really should be moved elsewhere – top center, perhaps?)

Android + Keyboard DOES NOT = Sidekick /// If you want to win the hearts of Sidekick fans, you need to do more than this!!!

I'm not a sidekick fan but I use a Nokia N900 with a very similar keyboard. From that experience I can state that the keyboard will be a usability issue. When numerals and some basic punctuation get moved to where it takes two strokes to access them each time you need them, it gets old in a hurry.
