HTC Hero ROM on the T-Mobile G1
Looks like one of the hackers over at the Xda-Developers forums got the shiny new HTC Hero firmware loaded on their HTC Dream (G1). This new firmware for the Android platform supports flash within the browser (crappy tower defense games, etc).
Widget support : we see weather and Twitter widgets demoed here, and there appear to be plenty of others available in the list
here are some instructions if you really want to have the HTC Hero ROM to your G1. Procede on your own risk.
here’s how to install the leaked firmware on your G1 or Android device:
1. Download http://www.droiddeveloper.com/hrbuilds/app_s.zip
2. Extract “app_s” into your sdcard’s ext2 partition
3. Download http://www.droiddeveloper.com/hrbuilds/hero-signed.zip
4. Place on regular sd card
5. Reboot into recovery, wipe and flash

I how those of you wanting the Hero rom go over to XDA and read up on the installation process. Doing it wrong will turn your phone in to a nice little paper weight.
