Re: Ampd Mobile Because they were so eager to get their client base up, they were too willing to take on bad credit risk customers. So at the end, more than half of their subscribers were delinquent. But the stock speculators loved them for their numbers and inflated their stock prices.
Meanwhile MetroPCS was more careful about whom they accepted as customers, stuck to a sounder business model, but lost stock value for turning in less than anticipated growth numbers.
MetroPCS is still here and going strong while Amp'd is gone. So much for following the herd. Always consider a company's fundamentals before buying stock.
