VZW adds smartphone functionality to mass-market phones By Allie Winter Story posted: June 3, 2008 - 1:49 pm EDT
Business-savvy handsets are expanding at Verizon Wireless. This doesn’t mean current smartphones or PDAs are adding new features, it means now you’ll be able to check your e-mail on select phones that can access the carrier’s Get It Now service.
Verizon Wireless has teamed up with Remoba to launch RemoSync, a new e-mail application designed for smaller business and enterprise customers, which for $10 per month allows subscribers using Microsoft Corp.’s Exchange Servers for business to access Outlook in real time on their handsets.
Besides the norm, these accessible features and capabilities include viewing e-mail attachments, e-mail alerts, uploading phone contacts into Outlook contacts, receiving calendar reminders and even scheduling meetings and inviting attendees from the handset phonebook, Outlook or Global address lists.
