Got the phone today. So far liking it. Browser isn't great, but better than WAP. I'll probably post a review later after a few days...

Just wanted to let the current Voyager owners know that a new firmware update for the Voyager was released a couple of days ao. Take your handset to your nearest VZW store to have it flashed.

Slashgear discusses the changes here, in case anyone wants a brief read before they head on down.

They cite some "HTML enhancements" in particular, but don't specify. Anybody who's gotten the update care to elaborate?

It seems like the south (or maybe it's just my city) hasn't received the newer firmware for the Voyager yet, maybe I'll have more luck in Atlanta later on today when I go up there. I'm still intrigued as to exactly what all the update improves. I'll post from my phone later on today guys.

You know, I must say the Voyager is really appealing to me. The touchscreen seems pretty cool, plus you always have the internal QWERTY keyboard to use, but there are just a few things that take me away from it.

1) The email client. It's really quite barebones and from what I've read, it does a force-check, in other words, it doesn't automatically check the mail for you.

2) Can't multi-task. Can't listen to music and text? Seriously?

3) The browser just seems kind of clunky from reports.

Now, keep in mind that I haven't seen the device in person, and can be horribly, horribly wrong. So I'd be delighted if I'm wrong.

The whole idea of instant email wherever I go is basically intoxicating, in that it makes me think that I can't live without it. Also the expandability of the software on Smartphones/BlackBerries just seem amazing.

My New Every Two is up on January 24th and I'd like to make my mind up the week before so I can get my order in at my local RadioShack so they can order it. I need some serious help. In more ways than one.

Yes i was very undecided on this or the pearl. I decided to pick the pearl because at my school, within two weeks there would be about 50 of these, and I HATE having a phone that everyone else has. I guess I like to be different from other people so I ended up picking up a pearl
