Well if we look at the Env, that phone was very well put together and that seemed like they waited about 6 months to come out with a V02. I'm not totally sure how long it was, but I remember they didn't come out with one for a while, and it wasn't even totally necessary.
There is no such thing as an iPhoneKiller or an iPodKiller. Companies saying all these devices are apple killers is just pointless and meaningless.
Amen to that my friend, I have of yet to even hear of a product that matches the hype of the iPhone.

Exactly, once an Apple product is released, every companies' sudden motivation is to beat it out somehow and label every product as its killer and it gets old really fast. I know Verizon labeled this voyager as the iPhonekiller, but I think it was way outta line because they are not even similar phones.
I've been with LG for two and a half years now (VX8000, followed by VX8600), but the form factor of the Voyager turned me off. I was willing to overlook it, but with the opening of the network, incoming Android, and that Sammy in the wings? I don't know if they can have my unqualified loving any longer.
I'm waiting for the U940 with a Croix interface. If I don't get it, I might go with a WinMo6 smartphone; I like the full QWERTY, and I'm sure that I'm enough of a nerd to load free games and get all that other kind of usefulness out of it.
I'm hoping this means that the phone will come out in Q1 of 2008. I hope Verizon is willing to let Samsung put their original UI on it, though; if not, odds are excellent that I won't get it.
The phone has the slide form factor, QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen... everything I was looking for, basically. But if Samsung's UI isn't on it, then I'm not interested. I know that real joy is coming in '08, and I'm not going to settle for Verizon's UI on the next phone I purchase.
LG VX9100, Samsung U940 "Q-Ball" (huh?) on track for Verizon this quarter

And now for a little gem from our "let us all pray it's merely a codename" department: it appears Verizon is tossing around the name "Q-Ball" in reference to the Samsung U940, the CDMA-ified version of the lovely F700. Of course, they could call it "Flaming Bag of Dog Poo" for all we care -- it's still going to be a hot handset that'll likely find a loyal following, and we're happy to report that the carrier's currently targeting the first quarter to get this puppy into subscribers' hands. The same can be said for the LG VX9100, a phone we just caught wind of earlier today via the FCC's loose lips (see the Read link for details), though we really can't make much of it other than that it'll wow us all with EV-DO and Bluetooth. Stay tuned!

Just got word that the test unit with updated software is still experiencing problems with "Get It Now" and the web browser. Expect a delayed release date, from the previously set late February or early March!
