Default Verizon Changes TOS to Define 'Unlimited'.

Verizon Wireless was finally caught recently for falsely advertising "Unlimited"broadband service when the company really meant "limited to 5GB/month". A statement was issued announcing that the company was committed to clear marketing and would be changing its advertisements to reflect the facts. It appears that they've changed not only their advertisements but also their terms of service agreements.

That is good to hear that some sort of regulation is being put in place for clarification of terms.

I agree. This way when a customer calls up to complain because they've had their service cut off due to the 5GB max rule, Verizon will have proof that this limit is clearly stated under the TOS agreement, and the customer should have known that.

I talked to Verizon Wireless a while back about their "unlimited" plan. He said that it wasn't really "unlimited" and that they would stop you after a while. I'm glad that they finally cleared this up because it was misleading.

Why call it unlimited at all?

It is very misleading... and complete BS. They really need to get called on it. They really walk a fine line when it comes to their offers and branding... and they should not be falling back on TOS.

Wireless billing is going the way of wireline, in my opinion. Patience is a bitter sweet fruit, eh?
