Default Running low on free storage space

Hello,

I am constantly getting the message that I am running low on free storage space and to delete any old or unused items but I cannot determine what is in free storage, how much free storage I have or what items to delete.

This happens evey 2-3 months. Last time I did a master reset and lost all my programs. I don't want to do that if I can avoid it.

Can someone help? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how much memory the Dash has (assuming that's your phone...) but you may want to check out how many programs you've installed and get rid of those that you don't use all that much or at all (you could try installing them to an SD card instead too). If you have a bunch of pics or other files you may want to look at moving those over to a computer.

I don't have my windows mobile phone in front of me right now so I can't give you too much more info other than those basics. What I would also do is just fire up the File Explorer and go look around and see what all you've got on there. It's odd that it happens every 2-3 months though.

Thanks...all my media is on my SD card and I really only have the basic 3rd party programs that my buddy has on his Dash and he has no issues. When I installed them it said I had plenty of memory left for more...

Thanks for the input.

I tried to install a program to check how much space I have left and it's ~1100K. This is strange as I had much more than that left after installing all the programs initially. I'm thinking one of the programs I installed is adding data or expanding which is why this seems to happen every few months. Could this be the case?

I have:

Adobe/Flash
Email Wizard
Live Search
OMAP Clock
OZInstantMessaging
PocketNester
Smart SS
SNAPin
TCPMP
Windows Media Player

I'm not sure what Email Wizard is (and couldn't find much info on SNAPin, but doesn't look too culprity - yeah, it's not a real word....).

Does OZ do logging? I've not used it so I don't know what it does or does not do.

The screen shot app, does it save pics to your phone or does it need a computer? Might check that.

Do you do a lot of email? Is it POP/IMAP, does it save on your device instead of your card?

I'm grasping at straws here....sorry.

I'm not sure what Email Wizard is so I deleted it. I use the Dash Email import POP from a Yahoo account and I do get lots of emails but it's set to only download the last 3 days of emails and then delete them.

I have the OZ instant messaging located in program files but I do not see it in the "remove programs" menu to be able to delete it. I don't need it nor do I know what it is. How do I get rid of that?

Thanks again

From what I'm seeing, OZ is built in to the T-Mobile ROM's, so there is no way to uninstall it without loading up a custom built ROM (well, I'm sure there is a way to uninstall it, there's almost always a way). Which may or may not be something that you are either familiar with or want to do, I don't know. I've had four WM phones and have flashed every single one of them, so I would do it - but that's me.

Other than that, without actually looking at your phone I'm not sure what to tell you as far as why you're having the memory issue.
