Angry 6133 and opera mini

I have a nokia 6133 tmobile branded phone. I downloaded opera mini and I was wondering how do you use it on the phone. I have the total internet add on since I own a shadow but this is my secondary phone. I wanted to know how to get that mobile browser working. When i run opera it says "application access set to not allowed" and then it never installs. How do I modify this! Thanks!!!

Well there are one of two things going on

1. T-mobile has not allowed any Java apps besides their own to access the internet on that phone. I believe that would provide the error message you are getting.

or

2. Like the message says, the permission is set to no for access. You should be able to go under Apps and then Application Options or Application permissions to change this setting. However since I don't own and newer T-mobile branded phones I'm not sure if they are restricting the java apps or not.

Good luck!

Getting the phone unlocked won't fix the problem you are having. In order to get Google Maps or Opera Mini to work, you will have to flash the phone with non T-Mobile firmware. This will, in effect, unbrand he phone, and allow you to set permission for Java apps to access the internet. I would do the free sim unlock through T-Mobile first so you can use the phone with any GSM provider.

Like Scooby said, unbranding the phone is the only way you can get all these applications to work unfortunately.

Evil! Absolutely evil!

They pulled the same garbage with the 6030. Cingular RM-75 version 6030 was not only unlockable very easily, but allowed applets access. Why shouldn't it. After all they charge a rather high price for a connection.

T-mobile RM-225 6030 had the permissions turned off so Opera, Gmail, etc. were worthless even if added to the phone. This is detestable behaviour on their part. Good luck figuring out how to flash it. I would return it real fast, just as I did a piece of rubbish N6126 from Cingular.

You can find instructions online for unbranding the phone. I have two 6133 phones, so I have considered unbranding one. If I make a mistake and brick the phone, I have a spare one in my closet as backup.
