Default messages from 5000

Today i received two messages from 5000.
I knew it was some kind of spam, but i viewed them out of curiousity.
After opening the second message, my phone turned off by itself and turned back on a few seconds later. Does anybody know whats going on?
Thanks for helping.

Oh no! I hope you didn't get some kind of malware installed on your phone. Is that possible?

Yes this happened with me also, someone was joking, this is a code that turn your phone switch off. But it may be also a virus installed on your mobile. Watch carefully is there not any more happening in the phone that seems unusual.

I have been getting these texts from a friend lately and the number comes up as 5000 and then in the text I see his number followed by a / and the message. Is it coming from a computer. And I need to know is there any way of sending a message back. Cause I have tried but he does not get it......

Hello everyone. I hope and pray no one got a virus from that message. I knew it was spam when I read it (only 1 message sent thank goodness!) because I don't have an account with "Vantage Credit Union" and most of T-Mobile text messages are in codes of: 7078, and 724 ...at least for me those are because I have to do the "flex account" with my plan in order to text message and or receive them. And I can say so far nothing before or after this "5000" incident has occurred.
