| It's one of the first digital phones. It was state of the art then. I was still in 6th grade or so and I remember having horrible reception with that thing, because cell phones were still predominantly analog back then and digital network was not very established. Motorola Spirit 1500 aka Flare from circa 1996 still makes and receives call with my T-Mobile SIM card some 12 years later. | The standby time with the big battery is something like 38 hours, so it doesn't get anything close to most current generation phones, but the talk time is just as good and even better than some state of the art phones. It gets 3.8 hours on 6.0v 1500mAh NiMH pack. The Nokia 2610 I'm using is rated at 3 hours (or 4 hours depending on which source you consult) on 3.7v 850mAh Li-ion battery |
