I currently have a postpaid account and have excellent credit, so I don't NEED flexplay. Given that it's a relatively new plan, I was wondering if someone can shed some light on the pros and cons of post-paid vs flexplay?
Specifically, this would be geared towards the post-paid people thinking of switching to flexplay. Thanks! |

Advantages for the post-paider:
1) If you get relocated by your job, and T-Mobile doesn't have coverage where you end up, you have no contract worries. 2) If a better deal comes along and you want to take it, you have no contract worries. 3) If you want to try a different plan (more minutes, less minutes, etc), you can WITHOUT adding 2 years to your contract. |

there are some things that you cannot do on flexpay that post-paid users can have such as some feature add-ons like caller tunes, call forwarding, and some other stuff.
also, flex-pay customers cannot have the current promotional rate plans added into their accounts when they activate (such as the 39.99 1000 N/W plan) |

I think T-Mobile is going the way as carriers in Hong Kong do
buy handset in full price, or BYOP, and sign month2month "contract" I also wish T-Mobile will sell unlocked handsets (less subsidy than locked handsets) in the store

Well, I had the big talk with hubby about putting his on flexpay, and he's still in denial about how much he talks. So for right now, not us. I really don't talk enough on one phone to justify flexpay for myself.
I really do appreciate that T-Mobile is offering it though. I hope they keep it and that other carriers follow their lead on this one. Two-year contracts are for the birds, IMHO! |

I will probably stick with my contract plan, as I just locked into a 2-year extension. Plus, I really like my current plan. I would like to try a SE phone, so that should keep me away from extending my contract.
The main reason I would want to convert to flexpay would be if I add a third line to my account. (I might add one in a year or two when my oldest child comes of age.) I think I would want to convert my account to flexpay first so the third line doesn't get locked into a 2-year contract. |

Matt, sometimes I really wish I understood how you draw these conclusions? You think because of flexpay T-mobile is going the way of the hong kong dealers? Thats a pretty far fetched hope, that this will lead to an entire shift in the sales process.
