So reading into a little bit about 3G... I guess we need to have a 3G enabled SIM card in order to use any 3G Network.
So for those of us who do not use T-Mobile phones but choose to use unlocked phones, we would need to get a new 3G Enabled SIM card to use the 3G features? |

USIM contains some special 3G MNC, but regular SIM (except some really old one) works just fine
"stick together" SIM works, and I am using it

The SIM card has nothing to do with what kind of data connection you can get. The Dash, like nearly every other T-Mobile phone on the market, is only capable of EDGE speeds. The radio decides what kind of connectivity you get. Newer SIM cards, which I don't think T-mobile is even using yet, just have extra storage capacity.

Yup. I talked to T-Mobile tech support today before bidding on a non-3G phone. They said it will work fine. The phone controls the 3G access, not the sim card. |

I have a samsung SGH-A127 that has a ATT 3G sim card.
The cell no longer has service, so i cant email them. What other ways are there to get pictures onto my PC? I have to USB cable for the cell, but my pc doesnt recognize it...I've been to the samsung website which was no help.

The simplest way would be to find someone with AT&T, borrow their SIM, and email yourself the pics.
Another way is to unlock your old phone. I don't have that model so I can't test it but it's worth giving this a try. Check out this forum and check out post #13 Samsung A437 unlock - GSM-Forum 1.) Insert different carrier sim to get wrong card on the screen. 2.) Enter on the keypad *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# 3.) Nothing happens, press the end button once. 4.) Press *2767*2878# 5.) Phone reboots. 6.) Now enter #7465625*638*00000000# and simlock is de-activated. Claims it works on the A127
