I thought I'd help kick this new forum off by posting some info about Edge Wireless (AT&T Affiliate), they are the ONLY GSM carrier here in Mendocino County in Northwestern California as well as in Lake, Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity, Siskiyou, Modoc, Lassen and Plumas Counties in NorCal, in addition they serve Southern Oregon, Southeastern Idaho and Southwestern Wyoming (Jackson, Afton, Alpine, Thayne). They provide GSM/GPRS/EDGE and are just starting to turn up HSPDA-3G.
1. http://www.edgewireless.com -Their main site I also have a a discussion group over at Yahoo! about Edge Wireless- http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/grou...relesshangout/ Maybe we could make this a sticky, and do something similar for other regional and local carriers ![]() California/Oregon coverage areas- ![]() I live appx. half way between Ukiah and WIllits on the CA map ![]() Idaho/Wyoming coverage areas-

They have been around since 1999. Here is some Wiki info on Edge Wireless that I found. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_Wireless

Who We Are
In the fall of 1999, Wayne Perry, Cal Cannon and Donnie Castleman formed Edge Wireless with the intent to build a state-of-the-art wireless PCS system All those guys are ex-AT&T Wireless Exec's by the way. We might still be without GSM service if they had not built out, AT&T and T-Mobile do have licenses to serve this area but have never built out their networks, the same goes for Sprint, Nextel and Metro PCS. We are currently served by three carriers, Edge Wireless, US Cellular and Verizon.

If AT&T doesn't own them, I think it would be possible. I am not sure though.
