The Camera has been updated from a 1.3MP to a 2MP, yet there is no Flash or AutoFocus. The Dynamic Color TFT Touchpad, which replaces the scroll wheel on the VX8550 Chocolate, has text icons that change depending on which application you are using. You can "slide" you finger across the display's arrows to scroll thorough the menus. There are two themes included, the standard "Verizon" and a new one as shown in the pictures.

This phone looks sweet! I checked Verizon's site but didn't see it there. Does anyone know if its out yet?

My opinions/views/comments are just that, MINE, no one else's, not T-Mobile's, or any other carrier, any of their dealers, or any manufacturers.

It's not out yet, but you can preorder the Venus in Black now. The Venus in Pink won't hit until next month.

From some of the pictures, it actually looks like the front bezel of the Venus in Pink is a bit rose-tinted. I hope so - if the only difference was the back of the of the phone, that would be kinda dumb. Also: It almost looks like the arrows, etc. on the lower screen are colored pink on the pink version (as opposed to red on the black version). It might just be the pictures making it look that way, but if my eyes aren't decieving me, it's a nice touch.

I still think the "Venus" name will make even the black version hard to sell to some (straight) men, but anyone who's bothered by something so trivial probably thought the Chocolate was too feminine, too. Personally, I love them all. The partial-touchscreen seems a little gimmicky, but I'd totally buy it if I had Verizon.

I'm gonna get the Voyager instead of this...it's nice, but I'm tired of sliders

It already has a bad reputation for being laggy. I haven't had a chance to play with one yet, but I'm not holding my breath. Doesn't look too great. :\
