Default Durable Phone???

I am trying to decide what kind of phone to get the other half. So far he has killed four (count em four) cell phones. The lastest victim was my first Razr ( to me it was kind of a whole sacralige thing) and I've decided to search for a nearly indestructable phone. Any suggestions??? If he kills one more, he's losing all phone privilages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused :

I suggest a Nokia, I've had three of them over the years and they're like a Timex, take a licking and keep on ticking lol. I currently own 2 6101's that have been dropped, slammed, bounced, (by my teenagers) and they still work great!! The LCD's are still flawless also. Way back in the day, my first cell was a Nokia 3361 and I think that thing could have survived a nuclear blast!! Currently the Nokia 6103 has a rubberized outer casing, which would IMO make it even better. Just my 2cents!!

I currently own the Nokia 6103. It is a very strong and very sturdy handset. I've only dropped it once or twice, but it didn't even get a scratch on it.
You might want to look at the new Motorola W490 in the store to see how it feels compared to some of the other phones that you had. If it seems strong enough to you, and you like it, at least you'll be able to use some of the accessories that you had for your RAZR such as the chargers/batteries.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope whichever phone he ends up with, he does not destroy.

If your other half doesn't have one already, it may be a good idea to look into a strong case as well. I know alot of people that don't like them because some cases have a tendency to add bulk to the phone, but a nice case will protect a phone from some of the damage caused by a fall, or minor bumps.

Nextel i530... All kidding aside, that thing is a tank.

I second the i530. I had one for a while. I agree with the military standard thing for that phone. It can take a ton of punishment.

The Motorola i530 wouldn't work on T-Mobiles network because of the two different technologies that are involved here. The i530 is a iDEN handset, and T-Mobile is a GSM network. While the newer iDEN handsets do use SIM cards that are compatible with GSM phones, for overseas roaming, IDEN is a different standard from GSM, and most iDEN phones are not compatible with the GSM networks.

Ellen, I knew the i530 was iDEN, I was just chiming in becasue I had one back in the day, with Nextel. I know the difference. I am by no means a newbie with this stuff.

For GSM go with a Nokia candybar style phone. They can take some major abuse.

I wasn't trying to offend you here. I posted my reply above, because the OP is looking for a durable T-Mobile phone and I thought you were recommending the i530, based on the part of the post that I highlighted in red.
