Default Voice Command on Dash

Is anyone running this? I'm having trouble understanding it and getting it working. Heres the setting I have:

Voice Enabled: Yes
Voice Button: App1 (What is App1?)
Availability: Always Available
Announcement Routing: Speaker Only
Announcements: Free Time Only
Call Confirmations: Yes
Dial Confirmation: Yes
Annouce Calls: Yes
Announce Messaging: Yes
Calender Reminders: Yes
Media Selections: Yes

Do I need to do something else to enable Voice Command? I'm not sure how to set a voice button and the instructions on IE suck. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

EDIT: Found out that on Voice Button it needs to be on Record. The button to push then is the home key next to the talk button. Hold this down and a little icon will appear. Speak into the microphone a command like, "call steve". The phone will react accordingly. If anyone has any tips or tricks, feel free to post. Thanks.

Just a quick note: Voice Command eats up memory like Kobayashi eats hot dogs. If your Dash is running sluggishly, you might wanna turn VC off. Otherwise, have at it! =)

Mine seems to be running fine. I don't use it all the time though.

I do only use it in the car. Perhaps im not quite familar with the proper syntax, at least with the names

call <name> at <location>

it usually mangles the name

can I interchange the first and last name? or is it only looking for one?

thanks

I just say "Call" and the name in my contact list. Then when it finds it, just say "yes".

Even then, it acts like those ol' Mac Newtons; I say the name, and it comes up with something completely different, time and time again.. =(

This is where the wired headset that came with your Dash comes in handy.. But then again, I have it off partially cos of work reasons and sometimes my girl sends me rather cheeky text messages during the day. You can take it from there..

if VC didnt take up so much memory it would be nice. me, i deleted it after the 10 minutes i played with it. is a cool app. say "what time/day is it' "what is my battery level" "play pink floyd" "call jimbob" or "start file explorer" it will respond but you can say bye-bye to most of your memory and all of the speed of your dash. not worth it to me.
