Default affirmation from DT to T-Mobile USA customers

http://www.rcrnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll.../70612005/1002
here is the brief description
Quote:
German telecom giant Deutsche Telekom AG has no intention of selling its U.S. wireless operations T-Mobile USA Inc., according to Rene Obermann, CEO of the international operator. Obermann reportedly told attendees at an industry conference that such a sale would be “short-sighted.”
T-Mobile USA has been a financial bright spot for DT, which purchased the business for $30 billion in 2001. T-Mobile USA has grown successfully even as its parent company has faced stiff competition in its home country.

Well THAT'S good news... (even though I never believed T-mo would be sold anyway... at least not right now).

Yeah. I own a fair bit of stock in DT...and I'm hoping they don't sell T-mobile USA...thats part of the reason I bought it in the first place!

people always freak about tmo usa being sold. it's just rumors people spread around constantly. tmo usa makes way to much money to just sell. it is one of the fastest growing companys constantly adding millions every quarter or so. i hate that every month people have to be constantly reassured that tmo usa is not going to be sold.

I gotta agree. There has never really been any evidence that T-mobile USA would sell...so I don't see why people freak out so much.

I also agree with that Nwahs, there has been nothing of any real concrete value that gives consideration to T-mobile being sold. We are presuming and probably rightfully so that because mega mergers are taking place around us that T-mobile will end up on the selling block. DT isn't going to put up their most profitable unit unless they can't maintain the company anymore. While T-mobile is pulling in cash and giving an infusion to a company thats bleeding money, selling off their biggest venture is a far away scenario. However, if DT cannot maintain their stock price and cash value they just might have to restructure and sell off assets. T-mobile just might be one of them.

yeah.......once Tmo introduces the UMTS.............they will be heavy competition with AT&T..............there won't be anydifference between the two except that AT&T has a lot more customers...........on the contrary..........i seem to remember there being a news article about Tmobile being interested in buying out smaller regional cellular providers.............it was so long ago that i doubt that i would be able to find the article but i'm sure some people here at this forum saw it
