Default Is the price of gas affecting your travel?

Curious if anyone here is experiencing the crunch due to the high price of gas. Have you cut back on travel? Going to friends houses? What about if you have to commute to work? Has anyone started using public transportation more?

I work from home, so that helps. I was planning on going to visit my parents sometime soon. I think I still might. It's about 200 miles away, so it would cost a bit, but not driving to work might make up for it.

It is affecting my attitude towards driving - not sure about how much it affects my actual driving though...

Thumbs up Re: Is the price of gas affecting your travel?

Yes it is affecting my life as a whole. My brothers and i planned to drive from minneapolis to philadelphia to see some family members this summer but that plan was smashed when the price went over four dollars a gallon. We did the math and figured it would be cheaper if we went with greyhound. I dont know about you but im beginning to socialize less than i used to because of gas prices. I also find myself shopping online more because there are discounts and i could qualify for free shipping. Better than taking time to go to a store and struggle for a great parking spot, isnt it?

Sorry to hear your plans went awry with the increased burden of fuel costs. I hope you get to see your family soon no matter the method of transportation.

Not really my travel since I don't travel, but it is definitely going to affect my move next week. I'm moving from San Antonio to Iowa next week and it's just over 1000 miles to get there.

EDIT: Wow, I just noticed that I am still ranked 12th in the poster rankings and have 29 referrals and have not been here for a while, lol.

Not really, as far as transportation goes.. Still scored a decent r/t flight from Kansas City to Sacramento on Southwest this July, $325.. No driver's licence YET, usually walk 3 1/2 miles total to/from work (as much as over 30 mi. a week if I throw in an optional summer walkabout). Everything else the petrol prices touch, like food, etc, it has a bit.. =(

Not really. I drive a hybrid so it's not as bad. Plus everything I need is close by.
