Mine was a Motorola StarTac. The thing would not break but was probally the worst phone to travel with as it didnt get good signal overseas.

Nokia 8290. It could get lost in a shirt pocket. (Then, when it would ring with vibrate, it felt like a defibrillator.)

My first phone was a Motorola phone (don't remember the model) when I was on a family plan with my parents on Houston Cellular (aka AT&T). That was from 1997-2003. I changed to T-Mobile in 2003 and have had good service (not so much luck with the phones, though). Since they don't carry the Palm anymore, I may be headed back to AT&T for the Centro in 2010 unless they get with the program LOL

Yes I am old.

My dad's first phone was a bag phone from AT&T (Houston Cellular). He had it mounted in his Blazer on the console between the front seats.
