I moved here in December from California.. so in a way I kind of "just got my own place". I was one of those "Austin is where's it's at" people, I researched this city for a few years, but didn't move here until I left active military service - I plan on starting a family here. I brought with me a full size bed, a couple of dressers, and a huge TV, but that's pretty much it.

I also like how, in Texas, I'm not gonna get in trouble for shooting someone who is on my property... I always got upset when I heard that people were getting sued for killing burglars/rapists/etc who break into their houses. "He broke into my house/was trespassing and I was defending myself/my family" is what I like to hear as a good justification... and not being punished for it. Ever hear about that burgler who fell through the skylight while he was sneaking around on the roof? He sued the owners of the house [or company building, whatever it was] because he injured himself with glass shards, and I think he won. Sad.

Yeah, Texas is pretty cool like that. Lots to do in Austin. Do they still have those open-air food markets?

I love Austin! We need to get together sometime Mystic. Juan, do you mean the farmers markets? Yea they still do those every weekend!
