Re: Is it just me? I work at a coffee shop right now...and not only do I have to ring people up, I make their drinks/food for them. You can definitely roughly categorize people like Mystic did. There are the people that will complain no matter how you make their food, or the people that will take the food even if you make it wrong. I can't imagine feeling like I have to complain about everything, and bring people down just because that is how I feel. We have two regular customers, one comes in, usually when we have a line out the door, orders 4 drinks, and precedes to stand there, critiquing how we make the drinks, and start yelling at us if it takes over a minute (which it does for 4 drinks). Every time I have to tell her that she can't talk to us like that, and if she goes and sits down and leaves us alone, we will finish a lot faster. Then we have a customer who will come and talk to us for 5 minutes and is extremely friendly. If she has never complained, but that is mostly because we make sure to make everything for her well. We also always give her a discount, or don't charge her for something in her order. Whenever she leaves the store, all the employees are just smiling. I guess the moral of this, is that by being nice and friendly, and not complaining constantly not only brings other people's days up, but you will also be treated better.
