Wait for it to come to T-Mobile. Better warranty coverage, support, and will probably cheaper with contratct.

Wirelessly posted (Dell X50v and/or SE K790a: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

the better part of that, you can debrand V8 if you want to
only Samsung can't be debranded

unlocked is nice if u go overseas, u can then use the country u goto`s sim, if the fone supports the band of the carrier. i swap diff carrier sims between diff fones and if it wasnt unlocked i couldnt do it. also getting a fone unlocked saves u the time of doing it urself ;) theres alot of pro`s and con`s, but i prefer unlocked...

I absolutely support the use of unlocked phones and as a T-mobile sales rep I can tell you that the company has no firm policy that I can find mind you that does not allow activating unlocked phones.

I support it and I am more than welcome to help any customer who comes into my store add the data services, be it a treo or a sony phone. Most of my reps just send people to me because I'm the resident phone geek but I can tell you from my perspective as a rep I support this idea.

After getting my k790a, I love unlocked. It's so much better than locked and restricted phones that carriers sell. I dislike how the phones the US gets is so much behind in technology compared with the overseas phones. This is why I'm gonna stick with unlocked from now on. :)

Plus, they look better ^_^

if you want to get unlocked phones, i do not suggest Motorola.
Get the Symbian based Nokia or Sony Ericsson phones... they are not usually offered by carriers so it's unique and way better than motorola imo.
Plus... the beauty of Nokia and Sony Ericsson is that they offer a HUGE range of phones... depending on your need. If you have any question on recommendations or whatnot, i can help :)
