I came across this article that pretty much talks about how Tmobile is interested in purchasing Sprint but the specifics are too rough at this point to iron out neatly.
Apparently, the two top shareholders of Tmobile want the company to become more profitable - or else. Should the company purchase Sprint, there is a whole mess involving compatibility issues.
