I think it's silly that a woman can't sell her own damn body. I think it's ridiculous that a woman can engage in "gangbang" sex with over 100 men, get paid for it, but that is legal because there was a camera in the room taping it all.

That's what was in my thoughts today. Particularly because I saw a homeless woman begging for money for her and her "4 hungry children" (as her sign said) and I told my mother that there is no way in hell any of my children would EVER go hungry or be w/o because if it ever came down to it, I would sell my body for money. Not that I think things would/could ever get that bad, but if it meant feeding my children, you bet your butt I would do it!

And I hate watching shows like Cops, when they have those big prostitution stings. What a waste of time, money, and man power to bust some woman giving a BJ for 20 bucks! Go find some real criminals...

I think if somehow government regulated, and taxed (hey less taxes for us!!), prostitution should be legal.

i totally agree with julia... look at how well legal prostitution has worked in the netherlands... they make big money, get tested regularly (mandatory by law), etc... great job for the sexually addicted

IMO, I think that as long as it's controlled for public safety (everyone has to have periodic mandatory health & drug screenings to prevent the spreading of STD's, has to have security controls to prevent violence, crime, illegal substance abuse, etc.), non-imposing or negatively influencing people who don't want to be "influenced" (has to obtain legal permits and be restricted to certain specified areas/locations that are voted on by residents or people who will directly be affected, has to obey laws regarding decency in public places and loud noises/disturbances late at night, cannot be next door to an elementry school, etc), then it's OK.

BUT, once it starts getting "out-of-hand", then it's NOT OK.

even in places where its legal to do, the cops still find a way to make money off of busting the ppl. look at nevada, its legal in the state just not inside of vegas, so they bust hookers on the strips etc... you can walk the strip and look at all of the newspaper boxes filled with advertisements, kinda funny actually, everything from buisness cards of girls, to full blown newspapers, to mini magazines... i think it should be lagalized but under certain conditions, like medical testing....etc, i think it would stop alot of sex crimes to a point, but not totally. Sports and Porno are the 2 top legal money making industries in the U.S....
