I have recently moved to Arkansas, while my family is in Phoenix, Arizona. They will be joining me soon, but till then I have to be in touch with them. Calling is the best way to communicate and I do so several times in a day. I have never used a prepaid phone service before as I had a long distance phone service back in Phoenix. Here to I have arranged for the same…..but it may be a while before it is activated. I would like to use a prepaid phone card till then. Any ideas about a good prepaid phone card?

There are tens of prepaid cards available today. This really makes it difficult to choose one amongst them as all come with an array of tariff plans and services. But I have heard of Talkloop of late. More and more people are opting for this card as it is a wonderful card with economical call charges, wide network, no monthly or service charges, and a host of other features. Check it out at www.talkloop.com (http://www.talkloop.com/)

There are also good options for calls depending on your telecom/internet setup.
Depending on your mobile phone plan your nationwide calling would be included. I know there are still some regional companies out there, but the major carriers are all nationwide for their calls. If you're planning on using a calling card with your mobile phone, don't. You're just wasting your money unless you need international calling. Even that will be changing soon.
If you have high speed internet at home, I'd suggest getting Skype and a $2.95/month subscription for unlimited calls within the US and Canada. Cheaper than getting a calling card with a good rate and you can even set a Skype-Out number local to your area that you can dial and then dial the number you want. I do this for international calls to Australia and countries in Europe daily, and it works well. It should work just as well calling within the US.
If a calling card is the option you need, have a look at www.phoneshark.com
I'm not sure if their selection is as good as it used to be, but it was pretty solid for ages.
The other option is to check out www.pennytalk.com from IDT. Also might work out well for you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Well you can use pre-paid service, If you are making short time call basically pre paid card not giving you all the benefits, but pre paid is good for the single person.
