Dear Friends of Celtic Radio,
Our apologies for contacting you again this week concerning the Internet Radio Equality Act; however, because the court of appeals has denied the emergency stay to prevent the new royalty rates from taking effect - this could very well be our last email that you receive from us.
As we write this message, the Chairman of the house commerce committee has summoned representatives of the webcasting and recording industries for a meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to broker a settlement and allow small webcasters to continue.
We are being advised by the Save Net Radio Coalition to asked our members to contact their Congressperson and urge them to take action on the Internet Radio Equality Act. You can find your representative through the following link:

I personally spoke today with Representative Stephen Lynch's office and spoke to them about what Celtic Radio means to the musicians and listeners. I threw away the scripts and spoke from the heart, told them how so many people love this music and about hundreds of musicians that have submitted CDs to our broadcast.
Our last day for this campaign is tomorrow. We are directly pleading with you to call your Congressperson again and ask that the Internet Radio Equality Act be brought to the floor of the Congress for voting. We have also setup a special thread in our community forum if you wish to post a message about this issue:
CelticRadio.net -> Online Radio Is Saved! (http://www.celticradio.net/php/forums/index.php?showtopic=10745)
Unfortunately, the reality is that webcasting will be for only the large rich corporation after July 15th. Those that can "cut" a deal with the RIAA. While I have been hopeful that Celtic Radio could continue, the writing on the wall seems to state otherwise.
Again, my heart felt thanks for everyone that has support our music vision over the years!
