Has this happened to anyone or anyone you know? I have the model and upgrade that is supposed to be affected by this, but I haven't had any problems.

I heard it was for the regular 3G model with the latest software upgrade

It actually applies to the 3G ans 3GS if you leave it in direct sunlight for too long while utilizing the 3G network connection or aGPS.
