I found this website thanks to a SUer. I'm switching next week (hopefully tuesday) to T-Mobile. Sprint decided to purge people who called in too many times with Sprint-caused billing problems (among others as well, including people in the military). I don't want my money going to support that kind of mistreatment so I'm finally switching. The hotspot@home feature really caught my eye since I am on a college campus and am FLOODED by access points all over the place.

Thanks to me working for a public university (part-time, I'm a student full-time) I can get my phone (nokia 6086) for free and the linksys router for $50 with a $50 rebate as long as I keep the $10/month H@H promo for 3 months. Since I won't go over 1000 minutes I figure paying $30 - $10/month for 3 months to get a free phone and free router pretty damn awesome.

It's also awesome I can get it all with a one-year contract. No more 2 years of hell!!!! I'm freee!!!:D

6086 can be used on regular LAN, like I did
however, don't use it if you don't need it, because the battery goes fast in @Home mode (wifi enabled)

I'm going to buy an extra charger for when I'm at work because I know I'm going to be on the wifi mode a lot. An extra battery can't hurt either.

I checked Sprint forum in HoFo
I smell some heavy churn on Sprint soon
probably some Sprint customers wants to go to at&t to get an iPhone: call 100 times in a day by dial 611!!!!! that can waive ETF
stupid Sprint!

Go check out the General Discussion board on SprintUsers. There's a stickied post that spans over 100 pages over a couple users getting canned for calling CS too much to fix their bill.

Yeah, I've never really like Sprint. I'm way happy with T-Mobile. Welcome to the forums.

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your experience with Sprint... usually you find people leaving T-mo and other carriers for SERO, but not the other way around. Glad you joined! :)
