if you are composing HTML mail, i suggest mysmileys.com.... i'm not sure if they allow direct linking any more, but if they do, then you're set. otherwise, you'll have to host the images yourself.

Is there any program that I can download onto my computer and select the smiley to put in my email? I couldn't find it on that site.

i'm confused as to how you couldn't find smileys... they're all over that site.
personally, i always compose my emails in plain text. html email still weirds me out.

right click the image. copy the image's url. insert the image in your email using that url

I did, and it came up with the URL even after I sent it. Not the picture.

the HTML code for inserting images is <img src="http://www.domain.com/path/filename.ext">
be sure to check your syntax if images are not showing up
