Well, I finally decided after a few weeks to get a Dash. I bought one last night on eBay and should be receiving it early next week. I also sold my t629 today on eBay for $150 shipped, lol. :D That covers more than half of the cost of the Dash that I bought. I can't wait to get it!

Grats :)
I finally got my k790a today, and I'm loving it, though it was pretty pricey... *sigh*
Wonderful. Let us know what you think. I still love mine (camera could be better) and have had it since Jan. They only thing that may tempt me away would be the BB 8320 (Curve with wifi and 3.2MP cam), but that is not due till fall.

The Dash has a nice camera.
Well, perhaps, but compared to my Samsung D900 the camera on the Dash is dreadful. That being said, the D900 does have a 3+MP cam. :)

I love my Dash so much, and the camera is fine for what a person should want to do with it.
Don't get me wrong. I love my Dash. Best WM SmartPhone on the market in my opinion.

Dash has a better camera on it than my 2.0MP Nokia N90.. And I don't have to hold it in place for 5-10 sec. after the shutter sound like with the N90..

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 6.12) T-Mobile Dash)
Wow, I'm really liking the Dash! I already had the $5.99 T-MobileWeb on my plan so all I did was setup the Dash to use it, and it works great.

I had the SDA and was quite happy with it, but just wanted to test out the Dash (which I thought was ugly in pictures) but I ended up falling in love with it. It's a great little phone and with everything I can do to it and on it, I still haven't gotten bored with it (which is what usually happens after a month or two for me.)

yea the Dash is a great phone. if the BB 8320 has support for streaming (gotta love that slingbox) then i'd get the 8320. if not then i'll stick with the Dash.

I snuck into the AT&T store the other day to take a look at the BB Curve. It was very impressive. Seems like a perfect form factor. The bigger BBs are clunky and the Pearl is a great size but the keys seem too small. The Curve seems perfect. It felt like a dream in my hand.
So why would one go with the Dash now when the Curve is around the corner?

Price. The Curve will not be cheap.

For me, I just never really cared for BBs. Some people like them, some people don't.

Oh, I agree Inuyasha. I've historically not been a big Blackberry fan.
I haven't been all that impressed with their "brickish" form factors of the Blackberry.
I also have thought most Blackberry users to be more than a bit odd. I've had some demanding and pressure-packed jobs in my career but I can't remember a time when getting an email was such a priority that it couldn't wait until I got back to the office.
As an experiment, I've been leaving my Gmail mobile app running in the background on my Razr lately. This enables me to get email in a similar way Blackberry users can get to email on their phones. Again, haven't found anything so far that was so urgent that I need to be checking email every few minutes on my phone. Most Blackberry people seem odd and compulsive. Unless you are a commodities trader, the need for instant email seems ... well, odd and compulsive.
With that said, the form factor of the Curve is nice and feels good in your hand. There are functions other than email that might justify the value of it. My question is and remains ... why is the Dash "better" or "not better" than the Curve? If the Curve is indeed a better device, I'll wait.
For me, I just never really cared for BBs. Some people like them, some people don't.

"Better" is all in the eye of the beholder. What one person sees as being better than the other can be different than what another considers better. Look at the iPhone for example. A LOT of people see it as the best phone ever made. Those of us that know better, see it as an expensive problem waiting to happen. The others see it as having so much that no phone has ever had, while the rest of us know that most of those features have been around in other phones for a while already. Like I said, it's all in the eye of the beholder. ;)

Agreed on all of your insightful points.
But questions remain ... Are there features you've found specific to the Dash that make it better than the Curve? Is the form factor sexier in your opinion? What is your specific list of "WOWS" that make this particular phone a "must have?"

well for me it is the OS. BB sucks in my opinion. too much scrolling and menus. and about 75% of the stuff i use on the dash didnt come with the dash. they are 3rd party apps. thats the main reason i use WM.

Sorry, I had to step out for a bit. As redwildebeast said, the OS is good, and there is a wealth of 3rd party apps available for the Windows Mobile OS that you can use with a simple app unlock. Not to mention being able to use the $5.99 T-MobileWeb plan instead of the $30 plan. The menus are very easy to navigate, the screen is nice and clear, the speaker is LOUD(unlike a lot of the phones I've used), and it's all packed into a very nice size. I've had my Dash for less than a week, and it works great.

eh, to each their own, right? as long as we're happy with our own decisions. http://www.t-mobilesignal.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Lots of free apps and no WM6 jamming up the works.. =) Now I just need to get my screens on it fixed.. The top screen cracked, and the interior screen has had bubbling for a good while..

Now if I only knew how to get screenshots of such.. I usually go to Eastern Europe and other overseas wapsites for apps, but then again, there's also getjar.com, plus other sites..
