To continue the excitement around the HotSpot @Home launch, effective Tuesday, July 3, all upgrade customers not eligible for a full handset discount will be eligible for best pricing when they upgrade to either the Nokia 6086 or Samsung t409 handset and subscribe to either the $9.99 or $19.99 Hotspot @Home service.

Remember there is a 2 year agreement requirement...

This basically says for those who aren't familiar with the ugprade options is no matter where you are in a contract, if you have upgrade options, regardless of whether or not your contract is 4 months or 14 months is that you get the biggest possible discount on these phones.

Does this mean that I could've gotten my 6086 cheaper than $117.99? Do you know if T-Mobile offers any kind of price match for their own price? It would be frustrating if I paid extra (5 days ago) and can't get the best price.

Okay... I just got off the phone with CS... The person I spoke with said that the phone is not available for an upgrade for anybody at the best price of $49.99. What did you understand the best price to be for the phone? She claimed that the best price I could get would be the $117.99. She also said that she could not validate anything that wasn't found on T-Mobile's website, because she could not validate that the one who posted the information was truly a T-Mobile employee.

I felt a bit frustrated when I got off the phone.

Sorry to hear that Scooby... :(

Have you tried looking at www.tmobilerebates.com (http://www.tmobilerebates.com) and searching for your phone? Many times T-mobile phones have a $30-$50 MIR for new or "qualified" upgraded phones (can't be within 1 year from your last T-mo upgrade rebate I believe). However, they don't advertise it really. If your phone is listed, then IMO it's worth a shot to send it in. The WORST they can do is deny you and you lose $0.41 and an envelope... ;)

I'll check out the rebate site. Thanks.

After stepping away for a few minutes, I realized that I shouldn't get frustrated over something like this. Last week I purchased the phone for $117.99 and thought it was a fair deal. It still was a fair deal. As far as the CS person not knowing if I could've gotten a lower price, it does make sense. Before I purchased the phone, the computer showed my upgrade availability and pricing. Now that I have purchased the phone, the computer will no longer show a price with 2-year extension.

I'm happy with the phone, and am fine with the price I paid for it. Sometimes it just takes me a while to think things through. :)

I checked the site for a rebate, and there isn't one available for the 6086. (They aren't even doing mail-in rebates for new customers for the 6086.)

I do need to send in the rebate for the router. :)

I just had a thought... Maybe the $117.99 was "best pricing."
