Well I was just wondering what everyone's reactions to the W710i on T-mobile are?
I have it and so far it is working well with T-mobile. The only problem I have is if I go from somewhere without service to somewhere with service, I get the "Emergency Calls Only" for about 1 minute until it finds the network. Other then that, I'm really liking it!

I recently got rid of my z710i which I had on T-mobile for only a few weeks. I saw multiple threads on multiple forums with a general consensus that this phone was above average to awesome.
I can't say I suffered from the "emergency calls only" message which seemed to quite common among a large number of users.
The one thing I did notice about it was the constant fluctuating of signal. I've noticed that as as a general pattern for SE phones. The signal bars never seem to be a true reflection of what type of service is available where I am standing at any given time. It will go from 1 bar to 5 bars to 2 to 3 and then hold steady at one place while actually in a call. Just weird.
Overall experience was good, call quality was good but not as loud as some people made it out to be, though YMMV. Would definitely recommend but don't lose your digital camera.

I have been using z710 with T-Mobile for 7 months, no problem so far
it has pretty good reception (but W300 is better), and it support NDIS mode (easier to tether to go online)
z710 has fast EDGE modem, alot faster than k790 (tested with Slingmobile, my Sierra card works the best, can archies near 200kbps, followed by z710 tethered in NDIS mode)

Looks essentially the same as W810i. From that perspective, I believe that "Emergency Calls Only" means it found some foreign network. In my case that would be Cingular. I see it regularly because T-mobile signal rarely reaches my abode. Dobson sometimes does and Cingular regularly does. When going over the hill I am usually too busy driving to watch very closely as it transitions. Windy 2-lane road you know.
Agreed on liking the S/E. Best phone I have ever owned. Wish I had a spare to keep TMO sim chip in.

Does the Z710 that you are using have 850 coverage for roaming capabilities?

it has 850 support (it's quad-band 2G), but T-Mobile has native 1900 (and AWS 3G) all over NYC

Would you say that the W300 has better reception than the W810i? I'm considering getting my first SE phone.
