So, I just started bowling recently. My friend and I needed something to do on quiet nights like Sunday and Monday. He's got a ball and some shoes now. I just have some kickass shoes...here's a pic.

Any way, I'm really trying to understand how to curve the bowling ball. I usually shoot the ball straight on. Any tips? Also, do any of you know what to look for when buying a bowling ball? One last thing, how do you know what bowling ball size you should use? I'm currently bowling with a 13.

I stand about 1 foot from the left gutter, and aim about two pins to the right of center. I then give it my best wrist-flick to the left, and watch the ball curve...usually a strike or at least an easy spare!

I used to, but I broke my shoulders in March so it will be awhile before I hit the lanes again.

wow those shoes are hot! I used to be able to throw a beautiful curve, almost like the pros do, where it looks like it's about to be a gutter ball but then it turns and almost always hit a strike. I would start my swing with my thumb facing up at the ceiling then right at the release I would quickly flick my wrist and end up with my thumb facing the ground. Sadly I lost my touch and am no longer very consistent :( Just keep practicing and trying different methods and you'll surely get better.

Nice shoes! I had to quit bowling when my wrists and hands starting going numb and tingly. It's really embarrassing when you drop the ball behind you instead of down the lane. Even worse when your back gives out while you're releasing the ball, and instead of releasing it, you follow it down the lane still attached to it...

I'm not a real big bowling fan, but those are sweet shoes.

Well, now I am an official bowler (sounds nerdy huh?). I bought a bowling ball. It's the new Hammer Black Widow Pearl which is pictured below.

Wow, that's nice. I need to find my bowling ball and shoes. They're either somewhere here at the house or in storage. I've got the Brunswick Wildfire ball. I believe its a 10lb ball.

LOL, maybe, but I can hurl it down the lane pretty fast! :D ;)

This is basically what my ball looks like.

Haha...12lbs is the norm for women and 14-15lbs is the norm for men. Sweet ball!
