Found this cool article stating...
"T-Mobile USA, the fourth largest U.S. carrier, is giving away the T-Mobile HotSpot @Home phone and service for a year to the first 100 people who show up at the Sixth Avenue store in Seattle on July 3."

You do have to show up in a robe. The OP didn't put that as the requirement.

I went anyways. The line was crazy. T-Mobile out did theirselves.
The giveaway includes, 2000 Whenever Minutes (no N/W), Unlimited M2M, 1500 messages sent, 1000 received, My-Faves, Hotspot@Home service, router, Samsung T409 (thats what they gave out in NYC), and T-Mobile Web. The service ends on July 4th, 2008. All valued at $1,500. I am happy, since the giveaway includes all of that. That right there on a regular plan would cost mad money maybe in the hundreds a month.
They gave out free robes to people in the line that didn't have a robe. Z100 was there in NYC.

Holy cow! That sounds like an employee plan! Ummmmmmm... so it's free for only 1 year right? What happens after 1 year is up? Does the recipient start paying $300/mo or something crazy like that?

Now, I have to decide how I am gonna use it. I have my $45.99 1000 Minute plan with Unlimited N/W. Too bad Samsung didn't put an MP3 player in the phone with an expansion slot. Maybe they thought it would slow down sales of the T619.

I don't know. I have to call their special number to find that out. I will not be paying $XXX for those features.

Man... that sounds like a KICK *** plan! Hope it won't be too expensive afterwards! Too bad there's no "Family Employee Plan" type thing made available as well... :D

Wait, wait hold up. I just checked on My-Tmobile on the phone using T-Zones, and it says that I have the Employee Myfaves 2000 minute plan for $9.99.

I bet it is considered cheaper for them to set up the free accounts as employee plans. Wouldn't it be great if they would let you start paying the $10 at the end of the year and continue the account? I bet they won't. I venture to guess they will require you to go on some sort of contract plan to continue service.
But Still... Who can complain about free cell service for a year, with Wifi as a bonus!

So how much will that line cost at the end of the promo? Or do you have to switch to a "regular current plan"?
